A big thank you from Sara at Wild Plot to all at GoodGym for all the balsam removal, wow there was so much! What a job we did and so lucky to be in the shade. We got into bits of the Wild Plot I’d not even seen before! Here’s a few photos.

Converting an old allotment into a floodplain meadow for biodiversity

This project is for Bee Friendly Warwick (you've helped us in the past; it's been great!) to create a wildlife meadow on an old allotment we started renting this year. The allotment is not near a power source, or anything really; it's a lovely spot! We need help strimming (we have two battery strimmers), hand-raking what we've strimmed, and bashing an awful lot of Himalayan Balsam. Once the area is strimmed, we should be able to bring in petrol scarifiers to level the soil and sow wildlife seed. There may well be a stage 2 for the project - to sow seed. The site floods A LOT. So it is tricky to do anything between November and February. We'd like to get it strimmed by mid-September. Ready for the next stage. Your help would be very much appreciated.
