It was an evening of the arts! We all did lots of painting, Diya and Jenny showcased their photography skills, and the poor spiders were dancing away as we swept away their webs. No drama, but that's how we like our community missions. Literature? Does this run report count?

How about music? Well our task for the evening was to paint the music cabin, and as this was our third time painting at the Lawns, the evening played out like a well rehearsed symphony: we ensembled and had no treble opening the school gates or finding the instruments carefully laid out by the staff. We quickly tuned into what needed painting and understood the scale of the job. As the paint dried it was sometimes hard to see where still needed a bass coat, but that was nothing major. Working in harmony we managed to get the paint looking nice and flat and we even managed to reach the pitch of the roof! At the end we agreed it was looking pretty sharp and we concluded that painting really is our forte.

The final chords of the evening were played by Sara and Amy on the awesome xylophone in the music corner of the playground before we said our goodbyes and headed off - Kanika, Diya and Jenny making the most of the warm midsummer evening to cycle back.

Well done to everyone who came along for this lovely sociable and productive session, and a special mention for our tourists - Jenny from Ealing and Sara from Slough. It was great to see you!
