I arrived to find Mr D sat outside the flats in his chair ready with instructions of what I needed to do. He is a fan of old classic cars and had bought an old jeep a few years ago with the plan to restore it. Since then he had a bad motorcycle accident and is in a wheelchair until his knees and legs are mended. The jeep is in the communal car park and the old tarpaulin on it was not keeping out the leaves, bottles of spirits and other ‘things’ out of it so I was there to help. Mr D joined me in his wheelchair for moral support and chat whilst I emptied the car of all the rubbish and attempted to put on a new big bit of tarpaulin with the help of some string and advice! Fingers crossed it stays covered over the next few months and Mr D can start restoring it next year.
