Despite the extreme heat, we still had a amazing turn out this week. We had 18 runners come through.
This week we done things differently. We still met outside The World Turned Upside Down globe and warmed up, but we took a different route. Rather then running towards Green Park, we instead ran through Waterloo Bridge. Normally the bridge is pretty spacious, but a lot of people used it as a viewing point for the eclipse that day, meaning we had to struggle through the crowd for a bit.
From there, we went down the stairs and ran through Southbank to London Bridge. This route is a favorite for runners in London due to the space, the amazing view of the Thames, and beautiful buildings such as the OXO Tower and the Tate Modern. It's probably one of the easiest yet most scenic routes to run through in Central. Once we reached London Bridge, I had the team take a quick break before we set off again. We ran to Blackfriars Station then up through New Bridge Street. Rather then showing the students tourist attractions, I took them through places in Central regular Londoners would go through.
Once we reached Strand, I had everyone wait just to make sure the less experienced runners could catch up as I wanted us to finish together. From there we made our way back to LSE, then I took the team through some cool down stretches before we parted ways. Another successful run.
