A beautiful sunny morning weeding and clearing to maintaining the allotments at Northcliffe.

There were some. apples and pears and blackberries too and we couldn't resist but to take some!

Asimah and I worked hard on clearing paths at Northcliffe before a visit on Tuesday by the Yorkshire in Bloom judges.

We achieved a lot at Northcliffe this week, doing lots of lopping to cut back the overhanging growth which had suddenly proliferated and started overhanging pathways through the gardens. The Shipley in Bloom judges are coming next week so this was important work!

I stayed after the session and joined in the plant swap the allotment holders had organised - I got some fantastic new additions for my garden and houseplants collection. And Asimah and I both enjoyed some fabulous chocolate flapjack baked by a fellow volunteer. We both left feeling really positive and excited to carry on the work next month!
