Nine crafty GoodGymers responded to a plea from the Craft Coop to assist in the production of poppies which will be used to decorate Windsor Parish Church for Remembrance Sunday. This ambitious project will see thousands of poppies cascading down the front of the church. Poppies could be made of any textile as long as they are weatherproof! The Goodgymers exercised their fingers, thumbs and brains knitting and crocheting over 235 poppies between them in their spare time. Thanks all, it's a great contribution to this community project, and the Craft Coop are extremely grateful

Kirsty - please can you send me any photos you have of your poppies to Sheila.attenborough@hotmail.co.uk. Thanks. If it's easier for you, you can give your poppies in to the Craft Coop in Windsor

Sheila and Rosie put out a call to see if anyone could come and help with transplanting seedlings at the community allotment. We were delighted to be joined by another 5 GoodGymers. We were pleased to welcome Deepti to her very first GoodGym session. We constructed a makeshift workbench on one of the raised beds using some spare board, gathered some planting modules donated by Sheila, Juli and Rosie, and found some top soil to use. We set to work transplanting tomatoes, beans, peas, nasturtiums and parsley. A robin came to visit, hoping to find a tasty morsel. The odd rain shower sent us scurrying for shelter in the greenhouse, and in the end rain stopped play, but not before we had transplanted and watered most of the seedlings. A great team effort

A call was put out for people to knit or crochet bookmarks for Bisham C of E academy. Five Goodgymers responded to the challenge, creating over a hundred bookmarks between them in a range of colours, and even a couple of hearts. Well done to Hannah, our taskowner, for producing the lion's share

An amazing 10 GoodGymers joined other volunteers to continue hedge-laying on the edge of Battlemead Common. Many had returned after really enjoying the task a fortnight ago. We all got to grips with learning some new skills - pleaching, laying, weaving, facing off, and whittling stakes. Welcome to Emma, who joined Goodgym after coinciding with us for the 3rd time! Well done to everyone for getting stuck in and helping to create a habitat that will be there for decades to come. Kudos to Jen, Mick and Jane for fitting in Park Run first, and double kudos to Mick and Jane for staying all day
