Hannah earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.

Hannah completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Hannah was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Rolling Walls and Rolling Tickets

Birmingham Report written by Jonny Carter

Today Narendra, Hannah and Jonny went to a flat in Erdington to paint the living room walls of a vulnerable man, who struggled to do it himself.

Roger was very appreciative of our efforts and told us lots of stories during our visit.

We did one big coat, so will be back in 10 days to do the 2nd coat.

Once done, next door at the retirement homes we had the bonus of a little fete, Narendra had ago at a tombola for the first time and we even won a prize!

After all that we headed back, Jonny taking in a run around Witton Lakes on the way home.

Thirteen of us shifting two tonnes of sand—turns out we really mastered the bunker game… no caddies required

Birmingham Report written by Jonny Carter

Tonight we had a magnificient attendance of 13 people at the task to move 2 tonnes of sand at St Thomas Nursery.

Jonny, Morwenna and Emily ran to the task from The Good Intent to meet the rest of the group at the task.

Chela, Klaudia and Thea joined us for the first time and really got stuck in to the job in hand, which was to move the sand into the 'beach' for the children at the nursery to play in. The group quickly went into 2 groups, doing the 2 different bags. Spades, saucepans and shovels were used, with then the wheelbarrows emptying the sand onto the beach! The pun has a little nod to Rory Mcilroy's Masters triumph on Sunday evening.

In around 25 minutes we were done! There even was time to build a few sandcastles.

The task owner, Laura was delighted with our efforts :) After a group photo we all headed off, James, joining the other 3 runners for the run back to the Good Intent.

We Chipped Away at Tonight’s Task!

Birmingham Report written by Jonny Carter

Tonight we welcomed Hannah to GoodGym for first time and we also had Joanne come along who was visiting from GG Exeter.

Four of the group ran to the task from the Good Intent and the others met us at the session. Laura warmly greeted us and it was on with the task.

We had to fill wooden frames with compost then cover the area around them with woodchipping, hence the pun thought up by James. Well actually we didn't just 'chip away' at the task in the end, we completed the whole thing! It was a really great job done which Laura more than appreciated :)

Once done it was time for a group photo then the group scattered, some running and some walking.
