Ellen Easten earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.

Ellen completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Ellen was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Waving in the New Year!

Windsor and Maidenhead Report written by Windsor and Maidenhead runner

Lots of GoodGymers joined us for a rather wet and soggy junior parkrun takeover at Ockwells Park in Maidenhead. Junior parkrun is a free, fun, friendly 2km event for junior runners of all standards which takes place every Sunday at 9:00am. It offers an opportunity for all the family to get involved and come together on a regular basis to enjoy this beautiful park. Just like GoodGym, parkrun want to encourage people to jog or run together irrespective of their ability.

We welcomed GoodGym newcomer Ellenwho also led the event as the local Run Director. Amanda led the warm up with the help of some little people whilst Diya, Kanika, Sheila, Nick and the other marshals walked to their points. Tessa took on a new role of time keeper whilst Rachel wore her crown well ensuring there were no funnel disasters. Julie did a grand job tail walking (yep with an actual tail) and even managed a short run as a few of the little people's legs got tired and they dropped out. Shout out to Amy who flew the GoodGym flag, Georgeta who stopped the kids going down the wrong path and Kelley who, as ever, helped us take some amazing shots of the flying feet!

The 84 runners were all awesome and included 81st timers. Between them all they clocked up a whopping 10 new PBs and some incredibly fast times. Junior parkrun really us an uplifting start to the day... and cheering those runners on surely means we have all earnt a cup of tea and some cake!
