A first visit to the Cathedral! ⛪🎨 What a lovely evening for our first GoodGym task at the Cathedral! We spent the evening up at the top of the orchard, giving some of the park benches a new lease of life with a fresh coat of wood stain. With the beautiful cathedral lights shining down on us, it made for a rather special setting to get stuck into some practical work. There was plenty of chat, laughter and teamwork, and we managed to get four benches completed – a fantastic effort for our first visit! A big thank you to everyone who came along and got involved. Another Tuesday evening, another chance to get out, get moving and do something good for our local community! With the nights drawing in, we headed to Verulamium Park this evening for a litter pick, focusing on the lit-up areas to help keep this beautiful green space clean and welcoming. Armed with torches and plenty of GoodGym spirit, we braved the darkness to hunt down the rubbish that had been left behind. It might be getting colder and darker, but there's always something we can do to make a difference! Tonight we headed to St Saviour’s Church for a task that was certainly long overdue! Armed with a giant extendable duster, we tackled the eaves, which looked like they hadn’t seen a clean in about a hundred years! 😂 It was a bit of a reach, but we got them all cleaned up and looking much better. We were also treated to a lovely soundtrack while we worked, with the church choir practising nearby. There’s something rather special about getting a good deed done while enjoying a bit of live music! A big thank you to Liz, Steve, Nick and Kat for coming along and lending a hand. Great work, everyone! Next week we’re off to Bernards Heath for another evening of doing good in the community. Looking forward to seeing you all there! 👋

Hi everyone, Tonight we headed to Verulamium Park for a spot of litter picking — because apparently our evening plans now involve hunting for other people’s rubbish! 😂 The park was actually looking pretty good already, but we still managed to fill three bags, so clearly there was some work to be done. It was just me, Nick and Mum tonight, and the three of us had a good laugh while giving the park a bit of TLC. Three bags later and the place is looking even better. Not a bad evening’s work for a small but perfectly formed team! 💪🌳 Thanks to Nick and Mum for joining me, and hopefully we’ll see a few more of you next week. What a great evening at Bernard’s Heath! We had a new comer Kat join us tonight, so it was lovely to welcome a new face to the group. After a bit of a meet and greet, we got stuck into the task — and we certainly weren’t short of materials! We discovered some huge logs and, naturally, decided the best thing to do with them was build a dam! 🌳💪 So David will be very happy with us — although I’m not sure our dam-building skills would pass an official inspection! 😂 There were plenty of laughs, lots of teamwork and, as always, a good giggle along the way. A really fun evening all round. Thanks everyone for coming along, and we’re already looking forward to seeing you all again next week! ❤️
