Tracey and Gwyn were in charge today at Parkinson's Cricket. One of our regular participants died only a few days ago, and he will be much missed. Today's group had a warm up, some catching practice, some bowling and finally a cricket game. We were kept busy scooping up the balls!

Hitting the Target

The gang at Parkinson's cricket were in fine fettle, and had me running all over the hall retrieving balls. They started off with some target practice, throwing balls to hit an array of cones at the other end of the hall. Following that, they focussed on batting accuracy; aiming to get the ball between two cones.

We finished off with a game. Everyone who wanted to had a go at batting and bowling, with the rest of us fielding. I even managed to catch a couple of balls this week (saves bending down for them).

Chasing the dragon

Tracey and Gwyn met the friendly group at DCF's Monday Mates for a chat and a game. We'd set a quiz for St David's Day, which was the day before. After tea and biscuits, there were games of Boccia and clock cricket.

Bring in the curlers

It was a cold day, and it inspired Alex from DCF to have curling as our warm-up activity. Fortunately, the room wasn't frozen, and he'd brought rolling curling stones. We went on to a game of cricket and then tea and biscuits.
