Ready to roll!!
Lovely Wednesday afternoon with the Goodgymers working with Kate at the Bow Foodbank. Unloading crates and trolley filled with basic essentials, kindly delivered by Morrisons. The numbers of using foodbank have increased dramatically to over 700 collecting parcels. Learning more about the sturggling operation behind every hard work. You know the little catch, every little helps.

Transformers 6: Cool Beans
After a successful mission at the Bow foodbank yesterday, we returned to help Kate transform the Bromley-By-Bow Community Centre's stock room: we empted, fixed, then completely reorganised and restocked the shelving unit with food items ready to be given out to our community in need on Monday morning. Kate and Karen (the task owners for this morning) are absolutely amazing, this might be my new favourite task.
Congratulations to Aidan for his 429th mission! And impressive can juggling skills (see can in mid-air in mission highlight reel)
#BigUp Leo for completing his 12 month streak, and mallet enthusiasm. I am not going to mention that he snuck out of his training at work just in case his boss reads this :P
Give cheers to Zoe for her 4th mission, taking time out of her Masters to do good and get fit, along with her enthusiasm for Butter Beans!
And also well done Alex (me) for not giving up community missions immediately after the glory of receiving the coveted black t shirt yesterday #letyourlightshine

Clearing shelves at Bow Food Bank PART 2

Bow Food Bank have been in touch: “The foodbank has become increasingly busier since the pandemic, and we have increased the stocks of food and installed some strong shelving. But the floor is dipping, and the shelves need clearing!”
The food bank has a brilliant, bustling continuous volunteer team, but a few pairs of GoodGym hands to help clear these bowing shelves, mid-shift, would be much appreciated.
On Wednesday, we'll be finishing yesterday's brilliant job and so you will be:
Removing shelves.
Helping to reinforce floor.
Reloading the shelves.

Wheel Meet Again
We had not one but two brilliant GoodGymers writing tonight's report, with Sree's wonderful pun...
Says Sree,
"As the timeslot was earlier than usual (to get as much daylight in as possible) a whole new set of eager Stepney City Farm first timers were able to join this very popular community mission - guided by our very own Task owner Siobhan.
Reika and Anna chose the task of weeding, and Ellinor and Sarah chose to deadhead sunflowers. The rest of us - Katrine, Zoe and farm veterans Sree and Ceiling were given the task of sweeping the courtyard and barn.
As a result of our efforts, many wheelbarrow trips to the compost heap were required.
As the light started to fade, we packed up and spent some time getting acquainted with the barn animals.
As ever the mission flew by and was enjoyed by all those who attended. Hopefully we shall see some of you first-timers back at the Farm soon!"
And Reika adds,
"It’s lovely to see GoodGym friends and help our local farm, sharing laughter with donkeys before the lockdown.
Yes, it's a tough time for everyone but it’s priceless to do something for someone. x"
