We tackled the railing painting job at Chassen Park last evening and set to with our usual gusto to turn rusting old railings/ benches into lovely new facilities for the community to enjoy.

Lee the task owner explained that the railings, benches and other metal work had been made by members of the Train club from recycled pipes a long while back and have been in need of sprucing up for some time.

it looks loads better!

Cue lots of pots of green gloss paint which we applied liberally whilst having a good chat about all sorts including

THE RETURN OF GROUP RUNS NEXT WEDNESDAY AT 6.30!

Last night we headed back to Chassen Park to help their brand new friends group get ready for launch. We were tasked with digging over a really stubborn flower bed and tidying up the wall, paths and surrounding areas in the bowling green area.

Of course, we set to with our usual gusto and really made a difference, so much that Rachel and Tracey were BOWLED OVER.

Well done everyone and best of luck to the Friends of Group with their endeavours. We will be back soon to help out!

Special mentions to Tracey who's 25th good deed it was last night - congratulations! Also well done to those of us that walked/ ran to the task from various different starting points...getting ourselves back into the swing of running to tasks ready for the return of group runs soon. Can't wait!

Tonight we joined a brand new Friends of Group to help them start their work on Abbotsfield (Chassen Road) Park! After a briefing from Tracey, our first task was to tidy up the children's play area and we did a great job! Well done and thanks to everyone, especially our little helpers :-D

It looks so much better, thank you!

We will be back in a couple of weeks to help finish off the playground and get the bowling club building ready for re-opening.

Great to be back at our first park gardening task of the year with the fab Friends of Victoria Park Stretford!

On arrival we saw the awesome new facilities and then went over to the mound which needed turning over. As usual we surprised ourselves with how much we got done especially as there was all sorts of rubble, debris and other random items to weed out! 🌳

Big shout out to Louisa who is new to the team and can wield a gardening fork like a demon! Lots of digging, chatting and penguins 😬👏❤️ 🌳 Lovely to see you all, thanks and well done xx
