We will be clearing some sheds, possibly clearing out the old clubhouse and moving some other items in to a skip to allow the council to pick them up. Possibly some planting as well.
Please bring some gloves if you have any
The task is near where we have been litter picking recently, but in the old clubhouse up the hill behind the rugby pitch.
About four years ago, residents at the Ingram Crescent Estate took over the management of a large communal garden space from the council, and have turned it into a beautiful, dynamic space with lots of ornamental plants and healthy veggies too.
Gardener Kim will be setting you to work on various tasks and you will get to see how the meadow we helped to create last year is coming along.
As you head north on Ingram Crescent East, after 100m look for the entrance to the garden on your left.
Lets keep it short and sweet...for today's mission four of us met at Edwards Street
Tidying up a neglected bed of shrubs was the task...we all got to work with no questions to ask
We accomplished a lot in an hour and yes we were done...check out the photos above and have some fun!
The Vicarage Bowling Green near Preston Park needs a bit of Tender Loving Care. The paths need a good weed and the raised bed is looking quite neglected. But with a bit of attention from us it will be licked into shape to create a nicer environment for the bowlers and those that walk through it.
The green is on the A23 opposite Sainsbury's at the bottom of Preston Drove. (Don't pay too much attention to the map as I can't find an accurate postcode!)
On one of my strolls around town I noticed this bed of shrubs which has become a bit neglected. There are some really nice plants in there but the dead growth from last year needs cutting back and there are some brambles getting a bit out of control. Bring gloves and secateurs if you have them (though I have a few pairs so don't worry if you forget).
