Games @ Redmayne View - GoodGym Norwich 5th Birthday!

We can return to Redmayne View care home to play some games and chit chat.
This will be such an amazing task to be part of.
You can either meet us outside The Woodman Pub (11 North Walsham Road, NR6 7QA) at 6pm to run, walk or cycle (it's about 2km each way), or meet us at Redmayne View (Mountbatten Drive, NR6 7PX) at 6.30pm.
Please bring a face covering. Although we won't need to do a lateral flow test to enter, please don't show up if you have any symptoms of Covid-19.
There will be no baggage storage, although any valuables can be left in my vehicle at your own risk.

Hammering one home
We had a small turnout as only 4 GoodGymers made it to the task this week, but it didn't prevent us from making an impact at Somerleyton Gardens.
Nicole had the initial tasks of hammering in some wooden slats to help support a raised flower bed. She then joined the other 3 of us in tidying up an overgrown flower bed.

Risk it for a Biscuit or have Egg on your Face
A great turn out this evening as we helped Norwich Foodbank.
Christina was taking part in her first GoodGym deed so a big welcome to her!
There were various tasks to do including: weighing food boxes, transporting food boxes and date sorting donations.
There were plenty of biscuits to sort as well as lots of boxes of eggs... which generated a cracking list of egg-cellent puns throughout the evening as we were a little over egg-cited... I'm just going to go back in my shell now before some of my puns get poached.
A lesson learned from Bobby was not to eat a breakfast wrap 90 seconds before going on a 3km run.

Cleaning the GoGo Discover T-Rex's and Mammoths

We'll be cleaning each and every one of the GoGo Discover T-Rex's and Mammoths, which is a trail in Norwich organised by the charity Break.
We'll meet outside The Forum at 6.30pm and then go round (walking, jogging or cycling) in groups taking selfies with each of the GoGo T-Rex and Mammoth, while giving each one a clean to keep them looking fresh.
There won't be a baggage drop but feel free to leave any valuables in my vehicle.

Walkin’ and talkin’
We walked to the task this week as I had a bit of a knee niggle.
It was quite fresh but it stayed dry.
There were a few tasks for us to do - plant some tomato trees, cut back the overgrown footpath and dig up a rose bush.
The latter was a rather hard task but after much graft and several pairs of hands helping, we managed to get it up.
Niall and Nicole planted the tomato trees while Elizabeth and Mark cleared the footpath.
