Quiz postponed, outdoor jobs instead!

We've had to postpone our quiz night unfortunately until the following month.
Instead Mark and Nicky would like us to come down and do a host of outdoor jobs, from watering plants with hoses, to clearing walkways and sanding down benches.
The residents outside area is so important to them that we'd be making a huge difference to them. Please bring some gloves.
We meet at the care home for 6:30, however, those of you up for a short jog or cycle there, we will meet outside Flirt Cafe in the Triangle at 6:15pm.
We will be meeting for a drink after too!

Pick away at Meyrick Park

We are meeting at the rugby clubhouse for a litter pick of the park. Please bring some gloves, a bin bag and a litter picker if you have any of those items!
We will split into multiple groups and collect as much rubbish as we can!
Hope you can make it, if not, not to worry as we'll be back out next week!

Staying Grounded

What a way to start a Sunday morning!!
13 of us in total got together with Michael and Jono from Grounded Community to help them make some progress in the Secret Garden 2 plot.
In glorious sunshine we split off into different teams. One team headed off and started to flatten a plot and prepare the are for the installation of a polytunnel. Lots of shoveling and removing a top layer to allow for it to be evened out and then the posts to be put into place.
Another team on the other side had to dismantle three raised flower beds to make room for a row of composter bins made up of discarded pallets...
Another team also tidied up a corner of rotting wood and moved it outside the plot to free up some space.
With 2 hours to play with we had lots of time and the chance to really make some serious progress, compared to when we could only stay for 40mins on groups runs!
As you'll see from the amazing photos we had a lot of fun and managed to so a lot of good!! And we still had the whole weekend ahead of too!!
We're out again this week, this time Thursday evening for a litter pick at Meyrick Park!
Come and join us!!

Sam has done 10 good deeds. They are a trusted GoodGym runner and are now eligible to join their local TaskForce.

Pick of the litter(pickers)
Another beautiful evening for a beachy Chine litter-pick! The fab four Daryl, Hannah, Sam and Caprice met by the sea ready for some serious bin bag action! Heading up the steps of doom onto the cliff tops collecting rubbish treasures on our way. Sam armed with his collapsible litter picker and grasping the hard to reach trash. We were pleasantly surprised at how little rubbish we found, it's clear the lovely Bournemouth council litter pickers have been hard at work! After zig-zagging up and down the Cliff tops we decided to call it a day, next sesh we were thinking Merrick Park. Watch this space...

Durley Chine Litter pick

Litter pick at the very beautiful but unfortunately very messy Durley Chine. Let's see what treasures are waiting for us this time!! Usual meeting spot just outside the harvester. Bin bags and gloves provided.

Gardening at Grounded Community

Michael needs a hand at both Secret Gardens and we love doing good so it will be a match made in......Boscombe!
Please bring your gardening gloves along and please please wear something you don't mind getting dirty.
We'll be doing some gardening on one site and sorting through bits on the other site. So, lots of being outdoors and getting our hands dirty....unless you have gloves of course.
It's a double session so feel free to stay for both hours or only for one of them.
