I'm an exercise fiend! I'm a Level 3 Advanced PT, triathlete, kick boxer and studio class instructor. I also love bad puns and singing!
It's a week later than usual but let's all get together and mark Pru's very last run as trainer with post-run burgers and shakes at Three Brothers Burgers.
Pru has been a fantastic trainer and we will all miss her when she steps down this month. She's played a massive part in making GG Bristol successful - making us all feel welcome on our first run and then keeping us laughing - and lunging - on all the ones that have followed.
Hopefully Pru will still join us when she can but let's all mark this last one as trainer by getting together for some food and saying a proper thank you for all her hard work and enthusiasm.
We've provisionally booked Three Brothers for 20 people but there's a chance we might be able to accommodate even more if you can all sign up here as soon as possible
Everyone is welcome - whether you've run with us 1 or 100 times. Maybe you've run with us in the past and can't make it any more but you still want to raise a toast to Pru or it could be you're planning your first run that day. Either way, the more the merrier - just sign up below!
Our last run of 2016 will be short but not short - we've been asked to spread the word about a great film event and fundraiser for refugees that's going to happen on Stokes Croft, so we'll be donning our running hats and gloves and handing out as many as we can in about 30 minutes, before heading back to Vivo to warm up a little. The run to the starting location will be short but then we will be splitting off in to groups to distribute leaflets so there'll still be more running to do. This will be Pru's last run as leader of the Good Gym Bristol posse too (sniff...).
To mark the occasion of Pru's last run leading us we are going for burgers and drinks to toast all the bad puns she has put in over the years. Sign up here so we know how many are coming and can book a large enough table.
Bring padlocks for lockers, head torches for a little light to shine your way, and if you're really keen, a Santa hat!
*UPDATE - * We have a table booked at Turtle Bay on Gloucester Road at 5:45pm on Saturday. It is booked for 20 and it looks like we have filled all of those seats if everyone turns up (Jenny and Mel are coming for food but not the theatre). But if your names not down and you want to come then I'm sure if you turn up we can squeeze you in somewhere, the more the merrier!
It's the most wonderful time of the year so come and party with us. This year we will be heading to the Wardrobe Theatre in Old Market to watch Rocky: A Horror Story a comedy mashup of the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Rocky (the boxer). It looks great and Nick assures us that their past productions have been brilliant. We will catch the 2pm showing, which will give us the chance to head out for a meal afterwards and then onwards into the night depending on where the wind takes us.
BUY TICKETS NOW!!! It is a small theatre so please buy your ticket ASAP to avoid disappointment. You can buy them here. Make sure you select '17 Dec 2016 - 14:00 (SAT)' .
If you don't fancy the theatre then just come along for the meal or a few drinks. Watch this space for an update of where we will be going and at what time.
If you haven't been to a social before they are really relaxed affairs and a good chance to meet your fellow runners when they are not ankle deep in weeds or doing press ups in Queen Square. If you're new to GoodGym then come on down and meet us to see what we are all about, we are always happy to welcome new faces into the group.
See you there,
