Last night (in what can only be described as a deluge) we braved the elements to make our first official visit to Pet's Corner at Longford Park.

We met up with the awesome Michaela who explained about the background and introduced some new furry and feathery friends including chickens, ducks, rabbits and goats!

On whst felt like the wettest Goodgym night on record we set to round the duck pond pulling up thistles, nettles, weeds and tidying up so that visitors can see the ducks going quackers more easily. After filling up four green bins, Alessandra finding a lovely duck egg and having had a new approach from a new honorary GoatGym member (Frodo the goat) we bid our soggy but joyful farewells.

We'll be back at Pet's corner as there's always stuff to do so look out for a future task there!

Last night we walked/ jogged our way to Longford Park to do a litter pick. Once arrived, we headed through the park picking as we went.

We spotted quite a bit of rubbish in the kids playground so we hopped in there and sorted that out nicely.

After that, Nikki spotted the hens at Pets Corner who were keeping an eye on our efforts. We realised it was still open so we litter picked our way round there and met some of the volunteers (and residents including two goats and some ducks!).

Keep your eye out for a future mission involving our new furry and feathered friends!

We made our way to our last stop, bagged up and then chatted all the way feeling most chuffed.

Well done to the leafleting crew who pounded the long streets of Stretford to deliver leaflets raising awareness of MKCS charity events.

Our gardening task got cancelled as the weather was so dreadful. BUT! At Goodgym, we like to get stuck in so we volunteered to clean up the vestry.

We managed the following:

• To clean the windows, mirrors and whiteboard
• To mop and hoover the floor
• To tidy up the chairs
• To sort out the book donations
• To clean the skirting boards
• To do a squat fitness challenge at the end

It's amazing what keen people can achieve in a short space of time.

And the good news is that we will be gardening very soon as nicer weather is on its way. Hurray!
