It was great to see everyone together after lockdown and lovely to welcome Keith and Suzy to the group. Well done to those of us who ran the Parkrun route before the picnic and to little Lottie the pup for getting a personal best. 😀
The weather smiled on us and we managed to enjoy an elaborate picnic with alcohol free Prosecco and caterpillar cake taste-testing before the heavens opened again. Jury is still out on whether Colin or Cecil is best, although James' vegan sausage rolls were a hit and Lottie enjoyed the chicken legs. 🤣
By this point we will hopefully be beyond rule of 6 restrictions and can meet as a larger group outdoors. What better way to celebrate than a training run at Valentines park (flexible on distance and pace to suit you) followed by a classic Goodgym picnic.
On this occasion we will also be doing some very scientific taste testing to determine who tastes better: Colin or Cecil the Caterpillar.
We will provide some cake and it would be nice if each person could bring a small snack to share with the group.
The meeting point for this session will be at the cafe in Valentines park. Hope to see you there!
A quick half-hour to stretch out the body and activate our muscles for some strengh & balance exercises! Everyone was impressively balanced and a bit of wobble is always good (glad to have brought that to the table;)) - means we are working the right things, so well done everyone for coming and exercising that core!
Welcome Keith to his first GoodGym session, hope we didn't scare you off:)
It was great to see Jenny after a few weeks away!
And for the first time in ages, I managed to capture a screenshot!:) albeit with poor sally hidden behind a clock banner:)
We'll be focusing on balance in our body through strength exercises that will build more balance. This is a slower pace exercise session to build strength and get a little bit of energy pre-dinner. Exercises are focused on running/walking/cycling form improvement.
Hope to see you on Monday!
Details to log in will be sent 30min before the session.
