Come and help clear the wildflower spots for our friends Wonford Planters.
Please bring gardening gloves as there may be thistles and nettles.
We will meet at the bottom of Burnthouse Lane, the flats opposite Wonford Green Surgery EX2 6NF
5 GoodGymmers were warmly welcomed at Newtown Community Association to prepare an area of ground for a wildflower garden. Members of the association are planning to plant a wildflower garden to increase biodiversity, attracting bees and butterflies. They have been struggling due to small volunteer numbers, so we were able to help out by lifting the grass and weeds to leave space for seeds to be planted. Judith and her friend Margaret from the association were fantastic, treating us to snacks and drinks and even a specially created banner (a first for GoodGym Exeter I think!)
Newtown Community Association are creating a wildflower garden for the bees. We will be helping to prepare the area- removing topsoil and weeds. Meet at Newtown Community Association in Belmont Park- call me on 07751804415 if any problems finding us. Please bring gardening gloves!
Jules completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Jules was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.
Jules is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.
Time to get your gloves on and rip out some weeds! Come and help improve the secret garden in Newton. Don't worry we'll share the address though ;-)
