It was a beautiful sunny day for a walk and the first thing I came across outside Mr A’s place was a bluebell. We had a lovely chat today, he was a lot better than last week and he was happy to chat about the sunshine and whether he’d be able to get out in the garden today. It was the usual list for shopping with an emphasis on getting fruits and vegetables. Sadly, there was no apple pie today.

Mr. A was not well today so needed lots of support in all sorts of ways so it was a more complex mission today. At the end I felt that Mr A was in a much better place than when I arrived.

Mr A I always have a little chat each week before we start the shopping list. This week it was about rugby and football. I don’t know much about football but we were able to share funny stories about the sports. Mr A chose his team based on his mum’s liking for a famous footballer from 1966 World Cup and I shared a story about meeting Owen Farrell not knowing who he was. This week we nearly forgot the trifle off the list, but luckily at last minute it was remembered. What’s not to like about trifle!

We chatted about the weather and how lovely it was outside. We then had a catch up about the week and how he was feeling, every time I see Mr A I learn something new.Mr. A was ready with his list which mostly contain fruit, vegetables and apple pie, we had a joke about Mr. A’s fondness for fruit. After unpacking the shopping, when it was time to say goodbye, Mr A shook my hand and it felt like a really special moment.

Mr A and I made a list and we checked it twice and off I went to Sainsbury’s to get his favourite- apple pie with some custard. Unpacked the shopping when Mr A mentioned that he forgot to put hummus on the list. He said he could do without it but as I walked down the road I thought he needed the hummus to go with the pitta bread so back I popped to Sainsbury’s. Mr A was very pleased when I returned with the hummus!
