Chelmsford
Knocked it for (almost) 6km!
After our task was cancelled due to the bad weather we all decided to meet up for a run anyway!
We congratulated Richard for smashing his buggy Parkrun PB and shared some more minor news from the weekend that me and Laurie had finally got married! Joe made me feel old by naming bands i'd never heard of that he is looking forward to seeing and the weather cleared.
We were going to be helping the Afghan refugees play a game of cricket down in Central Park so, as we couldn't do that, we thought we would run down to check the route and where we hope to play with them in future. We did a route down and cased the joint. Was good to see where we will be playing and get a run in.
It turned into a lovely weather-evening with loads of sunshine! After we returned back, Charlie protected the leg stump, Rich bowled a googlie, and James got out LBW.
In early August we are going to the Chelmsford cider and sausage festival, can get your tickets online if you want to join us!

Cricket with Afghan families

This is task is to support the Chelmsford Central Baptiste Church who support Afghan families currently living at Best Western Atlantic Hotel - near to our 'base' at the Old Factory Gym. (New St, Chelmsford CM1 1PP)
Our role will be to accompany the families to Central Park, support in the organisation of one or possible two games of cricket and make the return journey too.
There will be appropriate adults (Diane, Edith and Kevin) as well as parents attending. If you are First Aid trained in would be useful to let Diane know.
Equipment is provided and tennis balls will be used rather than cricket balls!
