Six GoodGym members ran, cycled and walked to Northway Gardens on Mutton Brook to help look after the gorgeous rose gardens. We met with Brian Who has helped to create a fabulous local oasis of flowers that is enjoyed the by the local community. They are mostly self funded with donations and rely on volunteers to keep the gardens beautiful. He asked us to strip the boarder of the flower beds of the grass and weeds that was starting to invade. A simple job but rather satisfying! unfortunately we didn't have enough time to complete the work but we will be back to help again. Well done for getting out and making a difference. click on the link and give everyone a cheer! well done all! and the england team! ( sorry I had to get that in)
Jennifer has already done 25 good deeds with GoodGym. Instead of doing anything else, they've used their run to go and help people that need their help; digging, lifting, scraping, clearing, planting and weeding. Stuff that makes this a better place to be.
Five goodgymmers converged on Stephens House and Gardens in Finchley to help the park maintain their road boundary. The metal fencing was being obscured by the growing foliage, most of it ivy spilling onto the pavement. It was a dry and warm evening and we worked at speed, cutting, clearing and bagging large amounts of greenery. We revealed bits of pavement that had not seen the light of day in years! We all agreed that it was very satisfying work and it certainly made for a much tidier boundary and gave the local residents more space to walk on. Helen, the park representative, was certainly incredibly pleased with the amount we managed to cut back. We nearly ran out of bags to put it in! Well done to everyone who attended. A fantastic team effort!
We will look to support The Friends of Albert Recreation Ground (alias FARRG is a voluntary not for profit community group made up of local residents working for the whole community.) The Group was founded in 2001 by a number of local volunteers with a keen interest in delivering improvements and involving the local community in its future. Meeting Emma
We will help widen the paths by clearing the over growing grass. Meet at the cafe inside the park. We can look at coordinating a run from a nearby location. Please make a comment below if interested. (limited numbers for SD) Maybe run from Ally Pally?

Your volunteers did a fantastic job last week, thank you so so much. I hope you saw the pictures and comments I put up on facebook.
If the 27th July is still available it would be great to get them along again. It really worked with the lighter evening.
Thanks so much Emma

This is a large 120 year old park designed by Parker and Unwin as part of the Hampstead Garden Suburb Conservation Area. Northway Gardens is a linear park comprising three areas of gardens through which the Mutton Brook runs in a channel, lined in parts by weeping willows. The gardens have woodland and grass to the west, formal gardens and tennis courts in the middle area, and ornamental shrubs and trees in the most easterly section.
Meet at the t junction of Northway and Litchfield Way NW11 if not group running. We will be in the rose garden behind if you are late.
