check out this fantastic cycle ride which is mainly traffic free and nearly 30 km. Fantastic effort from Géraldine and a special mention to Jenny who hadn't rode her bicycle for over three years!
Who needs petrol!
Jennifer and I helped with clearing vegetation around the largest tree planting in London at Enfield Chase. We were clearing undergrowth around the river to facilitate new growth and views of the stream from the newly created pathway of the London loop. This is a beautiful part of the world to visit. Highly recommended for both visiting and helping ongoing tasks listed. Please check our website.
Jennifer became a walk leader. Jennifer led the way for others to get fit by doing good.
Three GoodGym members met at the Phoenix Cinema to run to help Stephens house and gardens. We started off with a slow jog to warm up and picked up speed. Niki lead us through the winding small streets of East Finchley to finally reach a side entrance of the park. We were joined by Kirsten on her bicycle and Jennifer. The warm Twilight evening was then illuminated by a red moon just above the horizon. It was a beautiful evening to be out. We met with Josh the park keeper who directed us to help clear some flower beds of weeds. We made quick work and were able to do a warm up before jogging or cycling home. Thanks for coming and helping this charity park, being active and social! you did good!
Stephens house and gardens is a fascinating place to visit with a café playground and garden castle.
This is a beautiful walk from Stephens house and gardens past and an ancient church along a Brook and then using footpaths and bridleways to Darlands lake and nature reserve. There will be an opportunity for a coffee stop en route and a social chat. 13km approx 3.30
Visiting a community garden to help turn the compost and learn about ways to reduce food waste.
Looking to use the apple press to make fresh juice plus workshops about worms and compost making activities. There may even be some apple related snacks to enjoy! Please bring your own apples (plus an empty bottle) or we’ll have some for you to crush. Sanitising facilities will be available throughout the garden.
Pop in for as little or as long as you like to get involved, find out more about the community garden and eat some zero waste cake!
GGB will be looking to cycle to the event starting from Finchley and using the car free Dollis cycling path. Or see you there at about 11am. A local park run is also possible.
Jennifer has forgone the usual weekend routine. Instead of lie-ins, roasts and strolls around the park Jennifer has dropped everything to run a GoodGym mission for someone who needed help. Respect
Jennifer has just done something they've never done before. Jennifer has just run a mission; they've changed their running route and run to help someone who really needed their help.
