Katie, Jen, Dave and Andy gave the benches and a hefty cable drum a fresh lick of paint.

Samantha donned her Ghostbusters kit and Jane her bucket and broom and together they disinfected four runs. Then, armed with secateurs and gloves cut down the prickly brambles that were trying to take over.

Dave even found time to fix an extension lead.

We were then rewarded with some playtime with two of most adorable residents!

A post parkrun pick, with treasures aplenty including a net "we'll never get that in the bag" (we did!), some glasses and the obligatory piece of clothing (a glove this time).

The promise of a post pick "pick me up" at Costa meant that we filled one massive Colas bag nice and fast on our diagonal route from Hilsea Cricket Club up to Burrfields Rd.

Good work team!

A sunny, dry course for our 62 participants, including our two great Goodgymers Jen and Katie!

Samantha cheered them on, DJ Andy provided music as they passed his marshal point, Dave park walked and Jane scanned barcodes at the finish.

Jane, Fran and I had a quick lunchtime blitz of litter in Milton Park where we found the usual suspects of wrappers bottles and cans, we also dislodged many a bottle and can and plastic bag in the bushes, and of course some clothing items (a glove and a sock!). One big bag collected and reported to Colas, a lunchtime well spent!

I joined 14 other volunteers to help clean up the area around Hilsea Station, we collected 18 big bags of litter. It was quite a workout to reach the rubbish that was behind the railings, almost beyond reach.

There's a moving World War I mural on the wall next to the station that I hadn't noticed before.
