Lambeth
Dry doughnuts, damp feet!
Despite the thunder, lightening, hail and torrential rain, a drowned rat Goodgym-er took panniers of baguettes and doughnuts from Brixton to Lambeth. It was like swimming down the Thames (on a bike) en route but the baked goods were dry. Thanks Greggs for your generous donations and let’s hope the weather is kinder for the next mission!

Pasty-filled panniers
On a sunny evening in Lambeth, I filled my bike panniers to the brim with pastries, pasties, baguettes and baked goods from generous Greggs and delivered them to a charity that will redistribute this tasty food to those who need it. It all smelt delicious as I cycled!

Better luck next week
Greggs shut early and didn’t think that any good gym folk were coming on a bank holiday. I came early but they were just leaving and didn’t have any donations, so no doughnuts and baguettes tonight, but normal service will resume later this week!

Transport Greggs leftovers to a homeless charity

Bright Morning Star Prisons and Homeless Outreach help to rebuild, support and elevate the lives of the most vulnerable people on the street and at their Walk-In Centres. They provide basic and immediate physical and emotional help to the public, and provide a free counselling service.
We've been asked to help with transporting leftovers from Greggs, 4 Electric Avenue, Brixton to Chandler Community Hall, Lambeth Walk, SE11 6DU. Here's a map - it's a 4km run/ride.
Please arrive by 6pm - they will be closed after that! If you go in and say you're collecting food for Bright Morning Star Prison and Homeless Outreach, they should give you the leftovers. There may be quite a lot so just take what you can :)
🎒Please bring a backpack/panniers to transport the food (plastic bags might be useful too as the bags the pastries etc are in are greasy!).
🤿Please bring a mask to wear in the shop
We need 3 people to sign up to transport the food - you can either run or ride, together or separately. If there are any problems, please call Modesta from Bright Morning Star who will meet you on 07432 690877.
Any questions? Email me 👉 markgilyead@goodgym.org
Thank you 🙏 and hope it goes well!

Bags of baguettes
Three goodgymers arrived at Greggs on a sunny, fresh Monday to find a bumper load of donations ready to transport on bikes and feet to Lambeth. So many bags of baguettes! Our panniers and bags were stuffed full. Glad they weren’t wasted and will be enjoyed by those who need it.

BIKE Deliveries for Kinship Cookery Club

Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.
This Saturday Kinship Hub is delivering food ingredient packs for local families to take part in the weekly Cooking Club online.
You will need to provide your own backpack or panier bag, the food parcel weight will be 2-5kg. As some members will be required to carry 2 food parcels, both a rucksack and panier bag may be needed.
Deliveries will be collected from Dennett's Road SE14 at 12pm. Distances vary from 2km-9km so Cyclists will be needed.
Please check the postcodes on this spreadsheet. Choose a Delivery Role (1 - 10) and add your NAME to the list.
Your Run Leader will email you the task address the day before (Friday), and you will be given your full delivery address details when you arrive at the task.

Donut stop me now! Having such a good time
🍩 Greggs donated bags and bags of donuts and sandwiches. Two Goodgymers took the leftovers on bike and on foot to Lambeth for others to enjoy the food. Not a crumb wasted!

Bringing home the mac and cheese
Today the weather was a bit grey and cold compared to previous week's deliveries. However this didn't stop us Goodgymmers or even bring down our cheer! This week our parcels contained ingredients for greens with mac and cheese. Together we did 10 deliveries over 7 postcode areas. And an extra big thank you to Katie for picking up a second delivery at short notice!
