Foggy Fifty Festive Fun

Norwich Report written by Elizabeth H

331 people mostly dressed for Christmas festivities ran/walked/jogged around a Misty catton park. It was quite difficult to see participants today. We had plenty of Santas, elves & Mr & Mrs Gingerbredto! Today our very own Goodgym activator Hitch was celebrating his 50th Parkrun volunteering, well done Steven.

12 Songs of Christmas!

Norwich Report written by Ian Gostling

Tonight 13 GoodGymer's ran or cycled 4km to Edmund Bacon Court.

We were joined by 12 residents to host a Xmas singalong, our final group session of 2025.

In October we had planted trees in their garden, so tonight was an opportunity to meet some of the residents for the first time. Shout out to Rachel for her first GoodGym group session.

The song list tonight was full of favourites, fast and slow, with a breather for refreshments halfway through - thanks again for the festive snacks!

It was a truly jolly evening, finishing with a rousing rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas!

Thanks all for bringing your voices and good cheer. Merry Xmas folks.

Stand By Your Mulch

Norwich Report written by Woody

Today's task was transferring mulch to the front of the library to cover their newly planted shrubs, spreading it out and watering new shrubs. We also did some litter picking.

An hour well spent in the winter sun!

Dry(robe) sort of day

Norwich Report written by Elizabeth H

284 people running/jogging/walking around Catton Park, 32 volunteers standing out on a cold, crisp, wet grass morning, many in dry robes keeping the elements out. Lots of tourists & first timers enjoying the great out doors, and helping their mental health. A cake stall raising funds for Norwich Community Football for one of our regulars are running the London Marathon in April 2026

(Don't) Stop The Cavalry

Norwich Report written by Woody

A combination of two tasks today at Moushold Heath, both very rewarding!

We cleared the gullies to expose the Roman road used by the local cavalry to march up to their Barracks. A job which was satisfying as we could see the results very easily.

Meanwhile another group tackled the final third of the Dutch Elm, cutting it back and disposing of it down the deep gully as per a few weeks ago.

All topped off with lovely refreshments at the end courtesy of Mousehold Warden Will.
