Curious? Ben has just run their first session in another area. For that explorative spirit Ben is awarded the scout badge. A Scout is trustworthy

Race chums pick ace plums

Lewisham Report written by Kim Parker

Congratulations to everyone who ran The Big Half on Sunday - you all did amazing! It was amazing to see so many GoodGym runners on the route running and supporting.

It was also great to have GoodGymmers from other areas joining us this evening!

As there were a few tired legs this evening (mine included) we did a gentle warm up and made our way up a big hill to Springbank Community Garden where a lot of people were meeting us, preferring to get tired legs to the task using another means of transport. We started by working out who knew the difference between a plant and a weed, a common GoodGym question, and then we divided tasks based on those answers.

Anne-Marie had a long list of tasks for us, including:

  • Plum picking (there may have been limited plums remaining but we made the most of it)
  • Topiary
  • Weeding
  • Digging up trees
  • Painting the fence
  • Planting plants
  • Cutting back the plum tree
  • Putting up a sign
  • Moving a planter

We smashed it (and no one got hurt)!! We left feeling like a job well done and knowing Anne-Marie was very happy the long list of jobs had been completed. We were also treated to some homegrown vegetables including a variety of courgettes, cucumbers and plums - thank you

Next week we are off to St Swithun's Church in Hither Green - sign up here
