Group Fitness Activities
Please note that this group run has been cancelled.
We will be back on the canal this week. It will involve meeting at 1000 Trades in the upstairs room, before running out onto the Canal to complete a litter pick, before a fitness session.
Walkers are welcome to join and you can set off to the canal just before the runners :)
Please bring a head torch as it will be a little dark after 7pm.
Everyone is welcome, remember nobody is left behind.
Tonight was the last Jewellery Quarter Trust task for a while as the night's draw in, but don't worry we'll be back there doing some Missions on a weekend.
We met Josie and walked up to the cemmetry to do our stuff! Tonight it was chopping down more buddlier and then putting it all in a pile. Everyone did a great job, Josie was so pleased and slightly surprised in how much we got done in around 35 minutes of work! We really did make a difference. Hence why nobody would be gravely disappointed with our work ;-)
Before we went, Balal took some rather snazzy photos as we entered darkness, then we dropped off the tools with our walking group, before heading off for a 5k run.
Balal lead the run, taking us along the canal, onto Brindley Place, past Victoria Square, then back to 1000 Trades and that was job done for the night.
We will be meeting Josie from the Jewellery Quarter Development Trust at 6pm, before walking around 300m to the cemmetry were we will be doing some gardening, finishing around 6.45pm, after this we will be going for a run of around 5k.
The run is optional without us having to run too and from the task therfore if you don't want to do the run please feel free to come along :)
On what seemed like the wettest evening in living memory, four GoodGymers braved the rain to go for a litter pick on our adopted section of the canal.
We ran down to Livery Street and joined our adopted section of the canal. The canal was a lot cleaner than its been on previous visits we've made, which shows the good work we have been doing alongside the Canal and River Trust to keep on top of this area.
As there wasn't much litter to pick from our adopted section, we carried on picking litter up to the point where we left the bags at Aston Lock, before we ran back to the warm, dry 1000 Trades.
Thanks to everyone for your effort tonight, despite the weather - well done!
