We were thrilled to have a great turn out for a quick turnaround request from Frannie and the lovely team at Highbury Quadrant Estate Gardens.
The crew received a very generous amount of quality compost from a supplier in Essex, who was courteous enough to drop it off in person. So we put out a call out for strong helpers to assist with distributing the compost into newly prepared vegetable plots and flower beds across the gardens. Anne, Dan and David also helped with spreading the compost evenly across the beds using shovels and hoes, ready for springtime planting by local residents.
Wonderful work everyone. Have a lovely Easter break!

It was a Friday lunchtime return for Anne and I to Ms I's (for, and in the nicest possible way, hopefully the last time for a while) to build her newly ordered bed, and which, if a successful outcome could be achieved, would finally enable Ms I to sleep on a mattress on a proper bed frame once again after a series of GG visits over the past few weeks.
The critical element for Ms I was that the bed must have wooden slats - and so we opened the box with some trepidation. Thankfully the slats were wooden, and best of all there were instructions too and, once we'd cleared the necessary space in the living area, we got all the pieces out and studied the directions.
It transpired that pieces referenced as #7 on the leaflet actually meant #8, but after we'd got that mini confusion sorted, the frame came together remarkably easily, and we were soon at the slat installing stage and close to a finished product for Ms I to inspect. We helped her lift the mattress onto the frame, and left her to test drive her new found sleeping arrangements, for which she declared herself absolutely delighted.

So pleased Ms I is finally sorted and can sleep on a proper bed again - well done both!

Ms I wasn’t having much luck recently with getting herself a bed, GoodGym had assisted before with a bed assembly but unfortunately there were parts missing that couldn’t be located. So this time we were tasked with helping her to order a new bed online. After much analysis a choice was made and order placed, hopefully what arrives is what she needs, then she will need some help with assembly.

6 GoodGymers mulched 15 trees in London Fields.
Some proper Wheelbarrow fitness needed tonight!! With the gigantic mulch pile 600 metres away from the mulch needy trees we had a big job pushing the barrows!
Loading up the barrows to the brim before pushing they across the park, even adding a little off roading to increase the difficulty!
Using the tree knowledge to perfectly bed in the baby trees to keep the nutrients, moisture in while any frost away.
Top team work in just over an hour of steptastic action completed a really good task!
