Six GoodGymers hit the road, scratched and scraped at the task and banged out a circuit.

Great to have you guys and gyals back

First to arrive was Dashing Dave fresh out of the office. Next up was Ollie giving Dave the chance to slip off and get changed - I joked about how lonely I must have looked when he arrived. Dave doesn't just dash he's also the caring type. Next up we were happy to see Ellie turn up shortly before Jenny. Great to have you guys and gyals back after a well deserved holiday. Out to Sarah, Aidan and Paul-hurry back now. Glad to Hear Ali should be back in the coming week too.

After safely navigating our way through a few obstacles

After a quick briefing followed by a game of tag and chuckle we were all set to hit the road in search of the light. KORI community charity and youth centre was the destination and stripping paint from railings surrounding a children’s playground was the night’s task. En route to KORI we ran at a comfortable pace. After safely navigating our way through a few obstacles, in the shape of road works, we arrived at the task in timely fashion, ready to take on the mighty railings.

It’s great to be able to take ownership of a big task

We spread out and scraped away at the railings, which still need a lot more work before being finished. However, we can now see good progress. It’s great to be able to take ownership of a big task. As they say good things come to those who wait (and work hard). The children and parents who use the park will also love the new look. We hope this may encourage more families to use the park. After some refreshments I had a whip round to take photos for our monthly (silly) face off competition. We have a few strong contenders this week including one which looked like it was straight out of the psycho movie. Unfortunately we were fast running out of time so helped out with a quick clear up before hitting the children’s playground for a couple of pictures.

an always fun circuit which involved...

Sadly we had to tend to our fallen comrade [Chris] who tweaked an old knee injury while partaking in a photo. Heal fast my fellowman – we’re all sending positive vibes your way. Aside from this our run back was pretty much uneventful except for an always fun circuit which involved reverse dips, Russian twists, walk out planks and a good old wall sit for good measure. I do love sticking on a number between 5 – 0 while counting done. Giggle.

As we hit the home straight we of course did the sprint finish. Shouts out to everyone to all, really good effort guys. We had a little surprise on arrival to HQ. Our surprise came in the form of Dymock who has run with us in the past. Great to see you dude. Was also great to hear about the Food Assembly launch. Fresh local produce is always good in my book. With our warm down did and a farewell bid the session was over.

PS out to Ollie aka Mr Smug face ponder =)

Oh and thanks to Dave for the Pun & pics (R.I.P Bowie)

Until next week folks – stay good, keep fit and look out for the light.
