You say potato, WEED say poTATo

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.

Wednesday's in Southwark usually mean Group Run Day but tonight, as well as the group of Red Shirt heroes heading for Camberwell Sally Army, two mission-ready runners wound their way through Peckham to weedle out the potatoes amongst the tat. One: a stalwart of GG Southwark and Good-deeder extroadinaire. The other: as it was so delicately put "popping her mission cherry".

The destination: a much loved but rather out of control back garden. This week's heavy rain had brought about something of a growth spurt in the opportunistic weeds in the potato bed. We quickly got to work pulling reams of bind weed and brambles away from the strangled crop. Watched on proudly by our host who was more than happy to see his garden returned to order, we worked quickly and ruthlessly.

Before long, the dusk was settling around us and our bin-bags were stuffed full to bursting (literally) of all the nasties.

A job well done, we wished a cheery goodbye & goodnight, arriving back to base in time for 6 minutes of intense core work with the main group and a shout out for next week's GOODGYM SOCIAL happening right here in our glorious Southwark.
