This was another Super Saturday at Goodgym Bath and a return for our Magnificent Seven to Bath City Farm, We met up at Odd Down playing fields for this weeks run and after an intro and a super welcome to our fellow GG Brizzle Boys Dave the Godfather, Matt and Paul the petty competitive duo ( their words not mine) although I think I upset them when I introduced them as the Old Ones from Brizzle but what I really meant was EXPERIENCED ... Let`s get out of that one.

A total run today of 5.3k to shovel manure down a very steep slope to put at the base of the young trees planted just beyond the sheep. The sheep have no names for obvious reasons and this gave Dave the inspiration for todays Pun, It`s why he's the Godfather. Thanks Dave.

On arrival we were greeted by our lovely host for the day Alexia who swiftly allocated 3 barrows and spades to the team who split into 2`s to take on the relay of filling up the barrows with manure before making the descent down the slippery slope whilst Steph took the mammoth task of being on gate duty to stop those darn chickens from escaping.

Dave and Emily made the first journey down to the trees with Hermione and Alexandra hot footing it behind them but only after Matt saw the barrows were brimmed up with Poop. Paul and Matt soon got Petty competitive and had Steph timing them with Paul setting the standard at 3.03min and Matt smashing 30 seconds off the PB. We spent 50 minutes on the task today and managed to get 15 trees fertilised. Well Done everyone as that slope was hard going.

A Very Sweet Stumpy goat called Hawthorne was keeping his eye on us whilst we worked today and Douglas and Donald the Shetland ponies were enjoying the ongoing activities on the farm with the chickens trying to make the Great Escape.

The offer of Tea and Cake couldn`t be turned down so we took 10 minutes to enjoy a slice or two and a hot brew before bidding our hosts farewell and promising to return very soon to help out Down On The farm.

We said goodbye to the girls on route back to our destination, It was hard going to get back up the hill after tea and cake with a much needed stretch out and a BIG THANK YOU to the Brizzle boys for coming to support GG Bath.

A very happy 3rd birthday to Goodgym Bristol and all the fantastic work they are doing. Gary please take note of the progress from last time and the good work you did on that mound with Paul in the lashing rain.
