Whack-a-weed

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.

Luci and I met this morning to help Ms B with her back garden. As soon as we saw the garden, we realised we had our work cut out for us, with half of Ms B's long garden covered in waist-high weeds. Armed with gloves and a bashing device (fashionably displayed by Luci in the picture), we got to work. In a little more than one hour, we filled 8 garden waste bags, uncovering many unhappy snails and bugs, much to the joy of two cute robins who watches us work and swooped in to catch the poor/yummy (depending on your point of view) caterpillars. Finally, we brought the bags outside for collection and Ms B was so grateful she gave us both a wonderful bunch of flowers.

Way to show that garden who's boss! Sounds like you helped the birds as well as Ms B - fabulous job!
