Tonight! Six Goodgymmers headed out into the crisp evening to help the YMCA at their allotment
We were joined by Gill and Caroline from Sheffield, woop woop! Give them both a cheer for their GG tourism efforts!
We warmed up with some more silly moves across the courtyards in front of the pub, tonight it was backwards hurdles and tiptoeing, lots of laughs! It was a nice short run there, but it was a steady incline and we ran it at quite a pace, so everyone was a bit out of puff! The ladies at the YMCA allotment were happy to see us and tasks were dished out as we were chatting! They had also recruited some of the youths from the club to come help with the garden and hopefully be inspired by Goodgym!
The main task was weeding, pretty much everywhere! We broke off into groups, with three on the far veggie bed, and Clair and James doing the paths. There was lots to dig and everyone worked really hard to do as much as they could!
Once we had done a solid hour of work, we were delighted to be offered marshmallows to toast on the fire! We grabbed a few and tucked in - definitely not your typical GG session! After a few pics we said our Goodbyes and headed off or the fitness session!
On the way back, we stopped in an empty carpark to do some 'Half Moon Drills'. This is designed to work on the runners agility, balance and coordination. In pairs, the group took it in turn to jump between cones, being mindful of their posture and balance. Everyone found it fairly easy, so next time I need to up the anti!
Congrats to Sharon and Clair for completing you races at the weekend!!!
Another great week all, thanks for coming and see you at the next one!
