Samia and I met in Richmond to help the lovely B with her front flower beds. Sadly her sight has been deteriorating and she struggles to maintain her garden to the standard that she would like. We were shown the hedges and bushes that she wanted trimmed back and neatened up. We were asked about our gardening experience and had to admit we’ed seed an improvement after all these gardening tasks we’ve done recently! Should we take it or leaf it? Sometimes it’s hard to tell. At the beginning of the summer we weren’t so sure about the difference between a weed and something we’ed better not uproot but now we gnome better and we ‘dig’ a bit of gardening! What ‘shear’ luck to be provided with some good tools and a clear mission task too. We got to work snipping and clearing at no snails’ pace (although a couple of snails may have gotten in the way in the process)! The rain was threatening to appear all afternoon and we were re-leaf-ed to stay dry as we weeded away.

As Samia reflected on this mission, “we shearly didn’t think we’ed stay as dry as we did! In just a sec(ateurs), the garden was weed free! We were bordering on botany!”

Once we had finished and explained what we’d done to B, she kindly invited us in for a glass of water and a chat. We were laven der hospitality.

We hope that she can get more enjoyment from her garden in the ‘fuchsia’!
