After a 2.5km run, filled with peaks and troughs we arrived at our destination. In the heart of Stockport, perched on the busy A6, lay the majestic yet unkempt Wycliffe Congregational Church.

The church was littered with signs reading 'This is not an abandoned church, work in progress'.

Our 'work in progress' mission was to aid the church in cutting back their vast but overgrown jungle garden area, in the hope that a community garden could be created in the year to come.

We picked our tools and steadily battled the brambles, weeds and debris that filled the grounds. Branch by branch, we chopped and shifted until the jungle was no more.

After admiring the striking stained glass window, and munching through some biscuits, we headed back on our equally hilly return run back.
