Mission

We relay needed to be absent without leaf

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.

Adam and Samia arrived at Miss M’s flat and after a little bit of confusion about who we were or what we were there for, she gratefully accepted our offering of some help with her gardening.

The garden was very overgrown and Miss M explained how she could no longer tend to it and wanted all the weeds pulled out and bushes cut back. Slight problem in that there was an absence of tools, but Adam stepped up with the very helpful suggestion of doing a shuttle run home to collect some tools. Little did he know that a relay was in store... Adam vespa’d back armed with tools and we weeded and cut away, but then came across the stumbling block of not knowing where the bins were. Time for leg 3 of Adam’s relay as he whizzed back home to collect his car with bin bags for an anticipated run to the tip. Meanwhile, a very helpful neighbour offered some gardening bags and solved the bin mystery, and when Adam returned back from leg 4, we united for some final relay legs to the bins.

Miss M said how much she appreciated our work and could now see out of her kitchen and have more light inside, and would no longer worry about the hedge intruding to her neighbours’ flat.

Well done on the relay mission, Good Gym Relay Team!
