Helen, Dan and myself met on a beautiful Sunday morning to help tidy Mr and Mrs G's front and back garden.

Following a few blasts of the doorbell by Helen, we were greeted at the door by Mr G. We all introduced ourselves to him as we entered the house and headed through the house towards the back garden. However, we were stopped in our tracks as before starting on the garden tidy Mr G asked us if we could help level their lounge sofa and change three light bulbs.

The first job was completing in a matter of minutes - Helen efficiently lifted the sofa while Dan expertly re-arranged the tiles underneath. Suitably impressed, Mr G went and fetched the replacement bulbs and pointed out the light bulbs that needed replacing; despite Dan not being very switched on with his ladder identification he did a grand job of changing the two light bulbs in the lounge and one in the bedroom (twice - thanks to a dodgy bulb!). Mr G seemed de-lighted that all three lights now provided a lovely ray of light.

Sofa levelled and all lights restored, we all headed out to the back garden to begin the weeding on the patio and in the small flowerbed. Thanks to some good teamwork and power weeding we had the back garden de-weeded and looking markedly improved quicker than grease lightning. With the back garden done we moved onto tidying the front garden (well the one large flowerbed that made up the garden) which was very overrun with weeds.

Following another spot of power weeding we quickly had one very full bin bag and one flowerbed that was primed and ready to have some plants planted within it. There weren't any seeds or plants around so for now the plants would have to remain a filament of our imagination...

Bin bags tied, belongings gathered, it was time to say our goodbyes and begin our journey's home. A successful few hours that will have definitely lighted up Mr and Mrs G's life, mission accomplished!
