Wandsworth

Mission

Unfotunately Weed need another visit to get this one done.

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.

Effie arrived to find Idura already hard at work trying to get the door to the garden open. Mrs S and her daughter had been unable to get anyone to help during lockdown and the garden had become rather overgrown.

Wanting to get a safe space for Mrs S to walk around and get outside we decided our strategy would be to clear a path and work from there. Thankfully the sun was out so we could enjoy a lovely afternoon outside.

In the weeds we found: a drainpipe, 6 tennis balls, a football, 3 chairs, apples, several bunches of grapes and some of the longest thorns I've ever seen. Unfortunately we were unable to completely clear the garden but we've made significant progress for another team to come and finish the job.

Hopefully once the next team has visited Mrs S will finally be able to step out the back and enjoy her own private garden with her daughter!

Wow Effie and Idura! Excellent work, sounds like you found a lost civilisation among the plants! :D Hopefully we can get some more volunteers soon to finish the great work you did!
