Un-be-weed-able effort

Florian, Divya and Michelle cycled over to help the Friends of Harvard Hill with clearing weeds and litter from Harvard Hill park.

We met Liv from @harvardhillw4 for a brief of the area that needed clearing. With small forks and trowels we set off to clear the dried out grass and weeds ready for fresh planting. This involved a fair amount of ducking and diving to avoid scratches and prickles from the Hawthorne’s and bramble bushes.

After an hour we did a quick and thorough sweep of the park to remove litter including bottles, bottle openers, cans, super glue and nail clippers 😱. So for now at least hazards removed and a pile of weeds added to the compost we headed off to enjoy the sunny weekend.
