Today I went to see Mrs J and Sunny, the budgie. Mrs J immediately wanted to hear all about my running at London landmarks half marathon, last Sunday. She said she saw us on the news, which she wouldn't normally watch, but she just had to this time! So I told her about the troubles we had trying to get to London that morning. Wit the train delayed by 20 min from Maidenhead due to a trespasser for a start, then it stopped at West Drayton and delayed another 20 min due to signalling issues, then instead of going further it was cancelled all together and we were asked to get off, unless we wanted to return to Maidenhead. So eventually I shared a taxi with other runners, to go directly to Pall Mall. Only there are more than one Pall Mall in London, as we'd soon found out, and we were taken to the wrong one. Easy mistake to make when you use your phone app to order an Uber and select the destination from a list... Eventually we made it! I was just in time there for the start of my wave, and had a really good run. I enjoyed it very much and Mrs J was also delighted to hear all about it. Like she had a choice...😀
