In bitterly cold rain, three intrepid runners covered 4km of running and delivered a few hundred flyers for Stanley Halls.

Did you see that weather?! Most of our runners did and decided against a soggy session tonight (that's fine, I understand!). I waited patiently at our start point and in skipped Tim, who told me that it was also the Penge Forum AGM this evening and he might sidle off at some point to go along and represent us, good thinking! As we chatted, in sauntered Bradley, we knew we could count on him.

I must point out here that Tim and Bradley are neck and neck on 83 good deeds each, not that it's a competition or anything, but...

This week we were due to deliver flyers for Stanley Halls, a community-led venue over in South Norwood. They have lots of events coming up over the Christmas period and needed our help to spread the word in Penge. We distributed the flyers between us and headed outside to warm up (yes, we still do our name-check, even when we know each other and are small, but perfectly formed!).

Running down Penge High Street, we caught up on the week's news and heard about where Tim had been last night (Downing Street). Reaching Croydon Road, we took a right and started distributing our flyers in the streets leading off here. At this point, talk usually turns to how very tricky letterboxes can be and how we are all trying very hard not to inadvertently summons the homeowner with a careless release of a springy closure.

As we neared Melvin Hall, Tim finished his flyering and ran off to join the AGM to get warm, while Bradley and I continued our work on the mean streets of south east London.

Next week we should be visiting Melvin Hall to put up their Christmas decorations - the perfect excuse to pop on your Santa hat, some festive lights and to jingle your way along to join in!
