Absolutely no watering required at The Three Pigeons his week , which in some ways was a shame as the tides have been very high and have regularly flooded over the steps and onto the footpath so it would have been easy to fill our buckets.

Kate, Harry and Anita spent some of Sunday in the late afternoon doing bit of gardening.

Kate and Harry used hoes to help them clear a whole lot of weeds around the edge and inside the plot , including the yellow one ( hawksbit? Cats-ear? pictured with Kate) and the pesky horseweed, aka Canadian fleabane which first shows as a low growing rossette of leaves and then suddenly bolts to produce a tall flower stem with numerous white flowers. It seems to grow at an astonishing rate and in huge quantities: I guess that's what weeds do!

Anita tackled some of the browning cosmos and perennials with secateurs and pulled out more horse weed, plantains, nettles, dock and also the Allysum that has finished flowering. Definitely one to grow from seed again next year, along with the Zinnea which are still looking amazing.
