Brighton

Mission

Think of a number, subtract IV, add XC, what do you get? MUDDY!

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Brighton.

GG Brighton and Bristol combined to help Mrs L with a few tasks around her garden, Tara representing Brighton and Matt representing Bristol.

Both arrived 'parkrun fresh' from Hove Prom and Preston park respectively but they refused offers of refreshments and got straight to the business of sweeping away moss that gets washed down the water spout more frequently than itsy-bitsy spider. They planted a couple of plants (Bristol = a mock Orange; Brighton a buddleia - I'm expecting updates on progress) and a bit of light pruning to tidy up the shrubs.

Then the next task was to remove a wall of Ivy and dig up the roots to stop in becoming the bane of Mrs L's life. Apparently in the past the ivy had covered the entire garden replacing the grass, it took a lot of digging and a fork lost a prong in the process transforming from a trident to a pitch fork, but eventually the roots were removed and the wall satisfactorily cleared and Team GoodGym were victorious.

After this Matt and Tara headed off to the next event of Graham's Sten Do - the SEAA XC championships where Matt ran, and Tara marshalled at the bottom of one of many mud slides.
