The lost garden of Penge

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bromley.

“You must be wondering what you’ve let yourselves in for…” Ms L said more than once to Clare and Linda as we started trying to uncover her garden from under rampant nettles, brambles and climbing weeds! But after an hour and a half’s brisk clearing, and a few stings and prickles – this was definitely a task that demonstrated the value of a decent pair of gardening gloves – we had revealed her hidden patio, borders, fences and a full set of outside furniture. Already seeming sunnier and more spacious, the garden is a big step closer to being ready for Ms L to enjoy. She seemed really happy with progress and it was a pleasure to chat with her while we worked.
