Mission

The chair, the bed and the wardrobe

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.

Ian and I were greeted by Mrs A's occupational therapist Hannah, who showed us what needed to be done. As Mrs A struggles with mobility, we were tasked with moving her bed and chair so that she could move between them. One of the obstacles in the way was a 2 metre high wardrobe. Luckily, we discovered the wardrobe was a) empty b) light and c) on wheels! We were even able to detach the top part in order to make the task easier. With Hannah's help, we were able to manoeuvre the wardrobe into the front garden, where it could be collected by the council. Next up were the bed and the chair. Some simple unplugging, sweeping and wheeling and the task was complete. A quick task for us - unfortunately, my run report was not as quick (sorry for the delay Ian!).
