Last night's group run took us to help out Grounded Enterprises to help them with the development of their community garden. The garden is right next to a primary school, who will use it to teach children about sustainability, and it will also be used as part of a recovery program for adults in need.

We hadn't seen Michael in what seemed like ages! Or in daylight for that matter, before this evening all my tasks had been in the dark so it was great to be able to see clearly what and who we were dealing with! haha

After a gentle warm up to wake us up we set off towards the beach to run along the prom...and it didn't take us long to feel the need to stop and pose for photos. We are so lucky living by the beach, and being able to run away from cars and urban noise....you should come and join us next time.

***Our journey took us from Pier to Pier, to Toilet stop, through the peaceful gardens, saying hello to lovely dog walkers, admiring their..dog and finally to our Task location next to a lovely church.

We split up into a Monet and Constable group, a Bob the Builder duo, and a "I go to the Gym, you know" trio. The brilliant painters Caprice (who worked a night shift and only had 3 hours sleep) and Daryl worked their magic on some boards and then the inside of the shack, all with slightly inadequate tools, but their positive attitude helped them get the job done quickly.

Lee and Ross took on the challenge of turning over the soil where some potatoes were going to be planted. Removing weeds and keeping the Comfry...a very valuable plant. Used for providing plants with nourishing fertilizer, and the leaves are edible and the root is used to help fight inflammation and heal broken bones.

The third group relied heavily on the fact that Abi "goes to the gym you know" and loaded up several wheel barrows with bags of volcanic ash, and helped unload trays of baby kale, spinach, radishes and golden balls. The trio of Neil, Abi and myself had a human chain going that was nothing short of amazing!

After our time was up, we managed to pose for some more photos, Lee should now be considered our official photographer...I don't know what we're going to do without you next week!!

Another great evening of hanging out, running and helping out in the community. Come and be a part of it next week!!!

❤️ the pics. Especially the Abi, Manu and Neil with barrow. That did make me chuckle!
