On a bluster and fairly cold night, six of GoodGym Redbridge's bravest runners tackled the weather running 7km and helping the Forest Recycling Project stir and sort cans of paint.

With Trainer James back from his epic run in Gran Canaria and two first time runners - Vinil and Natalie - the group were set for an evening of introductions, catch ups, running and doing good. The Forest Recycling Project has become a regular task for GG Redbridge and while there is plenty still to do, the group are making a great impact on sorting the paint in stock ready for resale. Nilesh, who owns FRP is keen to spread the word that the recycled paint is available for as little as £1 per litre so can be a cost effective way for charities and organisations to put a lick of paint on their walls without breaking the bank. If you know of an organisation that might benefit then spread the word.

The evening's task was to sort smaller cans of paint which had been building up upstairs. Each required opening, stirring and then the lid painting to indicated the colour inside. With some cans having laid dormant for months or years, much of the fun was trying to work outside what colour the paint would be once it had been mixed.

With the task done and no small amount of paint spilt on GG t-shirts - a rights of passage for all GG shirts - it was time to return back to Wanstead House for some easy stretching, smug in the knowledge of 7km run and a good task complete.

A huge welcome to Vinil and Natalie for coming down to their first GG run and being such good sports. Also a big shout out to Peter, Beth and Alice for holding the fort while Trainer James was away. Legends all of you.

Next week we are off to help Marian at Wanstead Community Gardeners in Wanstead High Street. You can sign up for this great task here.

It was a lot of fun Adele. If you need more paint for the library you know where to come to get it now!
