Volunteering at the vaccination centre at John Scott Green Lanes is a really fulfilling way to help out. Some vaccination centres in and around Hackney are actively seeking more volunteers to help out patients and make sure everything runs smoothly. They are super-organised and they make sure you’re well prepared for roles like signing people in, directing them around the building, using the temperature gun…and dishing out stickers as I was today!

The first and second waves of vaccinations are fully overlapping now, and with the Delta variant causing a bit of a race against time, vaccination centres are busier than ever.

The volunteer slots are in multiple locations around Hackney throughout the week, last 3 hours each and are entirely loggable to count towards your GoodGym Good Deeds. Email alex.chase@vchackney.org and mention you’re a GoodGym volunteer. Once they get you signed up on the online system, you can pick which time slots and locations work for you.
