It was an extra long run to clear rubbish from the Trans Pennine Trail this week. Heroic regulars Dan & Josh braved the cold and the Barnsley hills.

After a quick warm up involving:

  • Static sprints
  • Paired arm locomotion

We set off from Shaw Lane without further ado, arriving at the very dark trail half an hour later to meet the FABULOUS DAMEN. We were certainly thankful for our head torches. We then spent a happy half hour clearing an area around the car park armed with litter pickers and bin bags - litter frozen to the ground in places.

We made good plogging headway, filling 3 bags full of rubbish and giving our arms a good workout in the process.

After a thanks for our work from DAMEN, we set off homeward, taking in more Barnsley hills on the lengthy way back, while taking care of icy patches on the way as the temperature dropped.

STRETCH TIME

On our return to base, we stretched off before heading home, having very much earned those pancakes!
