Seven deadly bin bags

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Westminster.

If you ask me if it's worth running 4.5 miles to move a few rubbish bags, I'll say: absolutely. My route along Grand Union Canal featured some pretty amazing houseboats and plenty of water wildlife.

At high noon the church bells of Notting Hill announced my arrival. Mrs S opened the door before I figured out which doorbell to use. "Are you here to collect the garden waste?", Mrs S asked. Collect? Something was not right. I explained to Mrs S what GoodGym does and what we don't. "There must have been a misunderstanding", Mrs S said worryingly.

Though I could not take away the waste bags, I was determined to help. And who said I had to use my muscles? I was sure that the council should be able to collect up to six bags of garden waste (recently, I did a gardening mission just a few streets away). Mrs S said she could not find the information about the garden waste collection by contacting the council. I quickly searched the internet on my phone but couldn't find anything specifically related to the garden waste in Westminster borough. I decided to reach out to one of my secret contacts. After a quick call, I found out what are the collection dates in the area. The timing was perfect - the rubbish was to be collected today, in an hour.

I moved all the rubbish bags upstairs and dropped them along the pavement. Now I realised there were seven bags in total and only six could be collected for free! I quickly split the contents of the seventh bag among the other bags and closed them again. Mrs S was very grateful although I haven't done much.

The mission was quick and simple, which left me plenty of time before my next task in the area. I decided to pop into a local café where I treated myself to a coffee and a tiny homemade cinnamon swirl. I tried to call Mrs S later today to check whether the rubbish has been collected but with no response. I hope all the bags are gone by now.
